I have the “Cinema 4D 11 Workshop” and is a very good book, but mostly addressed to beginners, and the “Cinema 4D: The Artist’s Project Sourcebook” is similar as far as I’ve seen.

The DVDs that come with C4D educate on most subjects including rigging, while Wipix rigging dvd coming with Mocca is both advanced and thorough.Ĭineversity has series of tutorials on rigging as well:Īlso, there’s Cactus Dan’s rigging tutorials using his Character Tools: There used to be a couple of commercial dvd’s about rigging and animation for earlier versions of C4D but I don’t think there’s much (if any) on the market now.

I’m just telling you this so you don’t recommend any rigging books that are meant for more advanced users.

I’m also familiar with rigging from playing around with Poser I know what IK chains, joints and constraints are, etc. 3-5), Vue and Rhino mostly I also have some background doing CAD work with Autocad, Pro/ENGINEER and SolidWorks, so I am rather familiar with most of the concepts (polygons, NURBS, boolean operators etc.) even if my practical skills are far from advanced. I’m pretty much a novice to Cinema 4D, but I’ve been a 3d-hobbyist since I first started using Real3D and Imagine on my Amiga about 15 years ago.

I also looked at “Virtual Vixens: 3D Character Modeling and Scene Placement”, especially since it has a chapter by Steven Stahlberg who happens to be one of my favorite CG artists, but I’m not quite sure how much the book deals with rigging, and especially not C4D-specific rigging. And has anyone tried these two books? Are they any good? I’m also interested in DVD’s, but I couldn’t find any C4D-specific DVD’s. I’ve been looking around for tutorial books and I’ve only found two that I thought looked interesting, “Cinema 4D 11 Workshop” by Arndt von Koenigsmarck and “Cinema 4D: The Artist’s Project Sourcebook” by Anne Powers.ĭoes anyone have any other recommendations? An extensive chapter on MOCCA and rigging would be preferrable, but not absolutely necessary.
